ISO 41001 Facility Management (FM) integrates multiple disciplines to influence the efficiency and productivity of societal, community and organizational economies, as well as the way individuals interact with the built environment.Through the services it operates and provides, FM impacts the health, safety and quality of life of many of the world’s economies and people.
The standard was established to further understand the rapid growth of the facility management industry and the increased complexity. It is not specific to the sector and is intended to apply to all organizations or parts of organizations, whether public or private, irrespective of the type, size and nature of the organization or geographic location.
ISO 41001:2018 was created for organizations that implement or operate management systems for facilities with the option of incorporating compliance with the new standard into their sector.
